Joy And Peace 2

Romans 15:13: Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

God is the source of joy and peace. We can only be filled with joy and peace by the God of hope and only in believing. The Bible refers to this kind of joy and peace as the joy of the Lord and the peace of God.

Nehemiah 8:10: Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Philippians 4:7: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Galatians 5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

It is impossible for individuals without Christ in their hearts to have the joy of the Lord and the peace of God. They can only have lesser forms of joy and peace. We who have Christ in our hearts can also abound in hope as those without Him cannot. Joy, peace and hope will not abound in us as God wants it to when we have doubts and little faith. Here are a couple of wonderful prayers that can help when our faith, joy, peace and hope go down:

Mark 9:24: And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Luke 17:5: And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
